Happy Birthday Justin!!!

Happy Birthday to my amazing husband! He celebrated by checking Stetson out of school an hour early and went to watch the High School wrestling meet. I love that his idea of a fun way to celebrate his birthday is by spending the day with little Stetson. Little things like that is why I love him so much!! He is an amazing Dad! They had a great time. After the meet Justin had a basketball game. His team was playing for the championship in the men's city league! To top off a great day they won their game!! Yay! After the game we came home and ate cake and ice cream. I made the yummy chocolate cake that Shannon posted on her blog. So good! Thanks for the recipe. And Happy Birthday Honey, 29 and holding right??!! WE LOVE YOU!

A Beautiful Day...

The kids were out of school yesterday so Justin took Kennedi and Stetson golfing in the morning (they "rock" at golf, and will participate in jr. golf this summer). Later we got a babysitter for the kids and had a fun day just hanging out. We went shopping for Justin some shoes, got a Jamba Juice (yummy!) then went tanning, (yes Justin went tanning too but won't admit it and will probably be mad I wrote about it). I know it's terrible for your skin and I don't go very often, but we are going on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera for a week (can't wait!!)and needed some color, plus it is so relaxing to me. Anyway, after tanning we went trap shooting. This view was so pretty (for the desert) and only 5 min. away from our house. I had to take a picture of the moment(don't ya just love timers on cameras?!). We had a great time, Okay I admit I'm no modern day Annie Oakley but still had fun. I wish every one of our days could be like this one. It was a Beautiful Day!

Tyra's First Primary Talk...

Sorry I haven't posted anything new for a while, it was kind of an uneventful week, until today
Tyra was asked to give her first talk in primary as a new sunbeam. I didn't know what to have her do, so in every situation that I don't know what to do I call mom. And as usual mom pulls through and helps save the day. She mailed me a talk that she had saved from when I was little. It was so cute. Tyra practiced holding up the pictures and saying the cute little words that went with them. She knew it by heart and could do it all by herself. She stood up to the little pulpit(she could barely see over) and gave the entire talk beautifully. I was grinning from ear to ear and probably making a fool out of myself mouthing the words with her. I was so proud of her, especially since every kid before her would hide his face in his moms boobs and not say a word. I want to try to figure out how to post a video and record her saying the talk. If anyone knows how to post video let me know.

Stetson's Big Wrestling Tournament...

Stetson had a big wrestling tournament yesterday at Boulder City, (30 mi. South of Vegas). He wrestles in the Bantam group 40lb. weight class. Yes he is a little peanut, at 6 years old he only weighs 39 pounds soaking wet, with his clothes on. Steston has came a long way since last years wrestling. Last year in his first match he took the other kid down, and then let him right up. Immediately the other kid took Stetson down. When his dad asked him what he was doing, he quizzically replied "Dad, it was his turn". Despite Stetson loving temperament, he puts on his angry face when wrestling, and I can't help grinning from ear to ear. Stetson was on his game yesterday and captured his first, first place trophy!! Stetson was so pumped up to bring home a giant trophy. Despite some tough competition he pinned every kid in his weight. He always is the first to embrace his opponents in sportsmanship. He is turning out to be a great little wrestler. He has a friendly team and devoted coaches, that teach hard work, discipline and self control along with the sport of wrestling. Justin loves helping coach the team, and working with Stetson at home. I think Justin is in heaven finally getting a boy who loves "his sport" (Justin wrestled growing up, and was a state champion in high school) . I don't think Justin could be any prouder of his boy.

They also took opportunity to visit Hoover Dam only being 9miles away from the tournament. I've never been there, but Stetson said, "it was huge, and amazing". Oh, Justin said they are building a new freeway spanning across the majestic canyon. What a great day in the life of a 6 year old and a proud pa pa!!!

Tyra, Tyra, Tyra.......

Tyra has this little brown teddy bear, "teddy" that goes with us everywhere, and I mean everywhere. She has figured out a new way of carrying him around so her hands can be free. See for yourself why I was laughing my head off at Teddy's new mode of transportation. Pretty smart I'd say...... The problem is all she wants to wear are loose pajama bottoms so teddy will fit. These are the little things that make me so happy to be home with my kids! I love em!!!!!

How to Play 500.....

I thought this game was an old classic that everyone knew how to play, but after talking to my friends and reading comments I'm beginning to wonder if it was just an old classic for us that we grew up playing at all of the family parties. So here is how we play. Justin throws the football and calls out a point value, like 100, 50, or what ever you want, and who ever catches it gets the points. The first one to 500 points wins and gets to throw. A variation is to have who ever is throwing turn around backwards so they can't see who they want to catch it, this gets a little interesting if playing inside, (I would highly recommend to move all breakables.) Have fun! and Happy Playing.

Parent Teacher Conferences....

Tonight we had parent teacher conferences for Kennedi and Stetson. They both got amazing reports. A parents head swells when they are told how smart, caring, driven, and great their kids are. My head is about the size of a hot air balloon hehehe! They are both getting straight A's. I absolutely love the schools and teachers here. They wonderful! Here are some pictures we took tonight.

Pictures of the Kids

I had to put these pictures up. I had them taken at the end of the summer, and thought they turned out pretty cute. Right after these were taken Tyra chopped off her ponytails, and all of her curls. I was so sad.
