I've Caught The Sewing Bug.......

While the boys all went to the Turkey Federation Banquet in Nephi last weekend I went to my Moms and helped Jenny sew this great bag. It is an Amy Butler pattern. I love all of Amy Butlers fabrics and patterns. They are so cute. I bought this pattern a while ago but had never attempted to sew one, so on Saturday, Jenny and I sewed one up. It was pretty easy and went quick with two of us. I just bought the fabric to make one for myself. I am so excited and can't wait to get it done! I LOVE this bag. I have to say I was quite proud of Jenny. She has never sewn, but is getting pretty handy with the sewing machine. Good job Jenny! I have also posted some of my latest sewing projects.

It is lined and has three pockets inside.

This is the cutest little baby blanket I made for a gift. This was so easy, and I love the jumbo rick rack! I have fabric to do a couple of boy ones that should be cute too.

APRONS!!!!!

I finally finished a couple of aprons, that we made for our little sewing group. It is the

Emmeline Apron. You can order the pattern on line here. It is reversible and so fun to sew. I am kind of addicted and have definitely caught the sewing bug. Here are some pics of the ones I have finished.

I am not very good at picking out fabric yet, but I am learning. I just wish it wasn't so dang expensive. I thought I would post some of the fabric I have gathered to make more of these cute little babies. Tell me what you think. I am going to make them for b-day gifts for my sisters and inn-laws, Thanks for the idea Jane, So Fun!!!

What is up with blogger? I am having a hard time uploading photos to my blog. Anyone else having problems?

Service Auction.....

I am a little slow getting this post up. Last week for our Enrichment night we invited the men and had a "service auction" and dinner. It was so much fun! Thanks Mom for the idea.

Everyone donated some type of service or homemade item. Then they filled out a questionnaire (did you read your scriptures today, do your visiting teaching this month etc.) to earn points. The points worked like money to bid with! It was so fun watching people fight over certain items, and get so excited when they won the item they really wanted! These are some of the items that were brought to bid on. There were things from homemade salsa and jelly, bread, rolls etc. to handmade aprons, dish rags, greeting cards and service such as dry wall patching, gardening, baby sitting, house cleaning, fire arms training, just to name a few!

Our auctioneer at his finest trying to really "sale" the apron! Thanks Kregg for being such a good sport and helping us out. He did a great job!

Table decorations! The paper lanterns are battery operated and lit up! I didn't get a picture of the yummy food table but it was all delicious! I have to thank Christine, my friend on the commitee. I could never have done it without all of your help! Thanks everyone who helped to make the night such a great success!

Skipper of the School......

Last week the kids competed in the skipper of the school competition. They had to qualify by being the last one jumping without without messing up during PE . There were 22 kids from each grade who qualified. Steteson and Kennedi were so excited. They did great! Stetson took third. And Kennedi took 6th. They are quite the little jumpers. Now they are working on double unders!

Trip Down Memory Lane......

Hubba, hubba... isn't my honey a handsome catch! I think so. This is his Sr. picture from High School. Since he just turned 36! I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite photos I have of him growing up.l-r {Yori, Justin, Shane}

This is Justin and his brothers Shane and Yori. They grew up working on the farm. That cow is HUGE! Boy did they learn to work.

Their family would spend the whole summer up in the mountains herding cows. They would stay up there and camp all week and come home for a shower and church on the weekends. Justin loved it. He would ride his little horse "Crackers" all day long. He was probably only 4 years hold, and held his own rounding up cows.

Happy Birthday Justin!

Happy Belated Birthday to my Amazing Hubby. We were in Sterling at his mom and Dad's house over the weekend. His b-day was actually on Friday the 23, but we were in Richfield most of the day at a HUGE wrestling tournament for Stetson! I think that if Justin could choose anything to do on his b-day it would be to spend time bonding at the wrestles with his boy! We definitely had plenty of time at the wrestling meet. It was a long day, but fun too. Doug and Cozette (Justin's mom and Dad) and Jenny and Wade came down with their little family to support Stetson boy.(I forgot to get a picture of their cute little family.) Thanks for coming guys, it really meant a lot!Justin's Mom made him this yummy German Chocolate cake! It was so good. Thanks Cozette.
Maverick and Justin. The boys all had on their Steelers jerseys on Friday. Everywhere we went it was a conversation starter for sure. "Boy you guys must really like those Steelers" people would say. "Yes We Do. Go Steelers!" Stetson would reply.

Happy Birthday Justin!

Stetson had his hands full at this tournament. It was basically the National Championships of the Western U.S. Stetson had kids from Idaho, Colorado, Utah and Nevada in his weight division. He didn't win this one but he did a great job, tried his Best and had Fun! (yes we had the looser talk, can you tell?)

Stetson has a hold of this kids legs.

Merry Belated Christmas Mom!

For Christmas this year I had a lady here in Mesquite paint this painting from a picture taken of my Great, Great, Great Aunt Mary's house. It was built in 1910. It is still standing in American Fork. She did a great job! It was a last minute gift idea so it wasn't done by Christmas.
